The Tikambe Natulande Radio Show is a youth led programme focusing on issues of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). The Tikambe programme runs on three (3) radio stations. In Central province, on Mkushi Community Radio station 92.7 FM, on KNC Radio 101.7 FM, in Northern Province and on Radio Mano Community station 89.1 FM, Kasama. On all the three (3) partner stations, the Tikambe Natulande show is a highly interactive and engaging radio show. Local languages are also greatly used in the programmes to capture the audience fully. Furthermore, to engage the young people more directly, the Partner Stations also reach out to young people through outdoor events where school going children battle it out in debates on various topical issues such as; Re-entry policy- Is It working?, Should contraceptives be available to school going children?, Should parents be blamed for teen pregnancies? etc. In addition, outdoor events also enable the young people to engage, interact and ask critical question to the policy makers who are invited to the events. Topics featured on these Radio shows are generated by the production teams and others are suggested by the Radio Listening Groups headed by Community Journalists. In order to interact with the young people, the show now greatly utilises the Facebook page, (TIKAMBE NATULANDE), Frontline Text Messages, Live phone-Ins, and Vox Pops (Voices of the people) and whatsapp. Other than the radio shows, Tikambe Natulande also uses TV to reach out to the young people. #Tikambe! #LetsTalk!
